Reminders for the week- As we are nearing the end of the year, I am going to ask that all book bags be returned next week. Believe it or not, these books are quite pricey. Please look over your house for any leftover books! Thank you!! - Our second day for MAP testing is Tuesday, June 7th! Field Day!Step Right Up! It’s time for the QAE Annual Field Day! All students and parent volunteers are invited to join in on the outdoor fun on Thursday, June 23rd, at Little Howe Park (1912 Warren Ave N). There will be playful games, face painting, ice cream, and Tug-O-War! ** Our class color is BLACK. I am envisioning us all looking like stealthy ninjas :) ***Please bring a sack lunch with all disposable items that day | News from Dwankhozi! Our very own Donna Verhasselt (Tatum's mom) is heading back to Dwankhozi this summer with Dwankhozi Hope. This time she will be focusing on women and girls. Yay! Did you know? Girls miss up to 60 days of school a year due to lack of access to sanitary supplies. Beth MacLean (director of programs) and Donna are heading to Africa in July to work with the Dwankhozi community on solutions to give these days back to girls. We've been inspired by the organization Days for Girls who developed a washable feminine hygiene kit that is being used by young women in developing countries all over the world. We plan to distribute 500 of these reusable kits this summer. This is where YOU come in. Give $10 TODAY to keep 1 girl in school Check out our Crowdrise page if you would like to help sponsor a girl, or better yet provide a sewing machine to make this program sustainable! Special call out to *my amazing mom* who is sewing the beautiful bags these girls will use to carry their supplies!! |
