They will be carrying either one to the park themselves. - Report cards will go home on Thursday. I made a mistake in telling Carolyn Friday for her weekly email. - Yearbooks will go home on Friday. If you will not be here, please let me know. - 1 hr early dismissal on the last day. Students will be dismissed at 2:40. | Before the whirlwind of the last two days begins, I want to take time to give you all a huge thank you for the support you have provided this year. So many of you have found the time to come in and support our learning in the classroom and/or follow our learning online, thank you! All of you have supported your child each day as they journeyed through their kindergarten year, supporting home reading, learning to decipher kindergarten spelling, and attending school events! This positive home support is so important in helping maintain your child's positive connection to school. Thank you so much for giving your kids such an amazing start! The start to our school year was not ideal for anyone. The SEA strike and losing our principal were both things that were unexpected to all of us. I applaud you for sticking with us and believing in us, despite of our losses. As a staff, we are all taking time to reflect on the year and remember the trauma that we experienced. I can say that it has finally started to settle and I couldn't be more excited to keep moving forward. It has been a joy to get to know all of you and your students this year. They have grown so much as learners together. They laughed together, read to each other, challenged each other's thinking, asked deep questions, listened to each other, shared their ideas through writing, and grew themselves as a global citizens. What an accomplishment for 5 and 6 year olds :) Thank you again for your part in helping them accomplish this. I hope you have an adventurous and relaxing summer! I have big plans to work in my yard, do some house painting, and go on many backpacking adventures. I can't wait! Best, Rene |
