Last year was the inception year for this new kindergarten project and we are so excited to dive even deeper into this question this year! We know our young learners are so CREATIVE and COMPASSIONATE about the world around them. How can we give kindergartners time, space, and materials to actually be compassionate creators who make the world a better place? This project is our K team's stab at that. We are excited for you to be a part of this journey and help encourage us to think creatively!
People all over the world use their minds in creative ways to solve the problems they see around them. Most of us do this every day! A leaky faucet for instance. What do you do with that? Do you put a bucket underneath to catch the drips, do you take apart the whole faucet to figure out what is wrong, do you connect a tube to the faucet to make the water go where you want it? We use our minds in creative ways to solve problems all the time.
We are starting this project by looking at examples of people across the globe who have come up with creative solutions for problems in their lives/communities. We are reading a book a day discussing what problems these people are facing and how they have come up with solutions to solve them. |
